ReciSnapTerms of Use
These terms govern your use of the ReciSnap iOS app. By installing or using ReciSnap you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not install or use the app.
1. What ReciSnap is
ReciSnap is a personal recipe organizer and AI meal-scanning tool. It runs entirely on your iPhone. There is no ReciSnap account and no shared social feed.
2. The license you receive
We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable license to use ReciSnap on any iPhone you personally own or control, in accordance with the App Store's standard end-user terms (Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement: EULA). You may not resell the app, sublicense it, decompile or reverse-engineer it (except where required by law), or remove proprietary notices.
3. ReciSnap Plus subscription
Plans
ReciSnap Plus is offered as an auto-renewing subscription:
- Yearly: the price shown on the App Store at the time of purchase, billed once per year, with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers.
- Monthly: the price shown on the App Store at the time of purchase, billed once per month.
Billing and auto-renewal
Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription automatically renews unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. Free trials, if any, convert to a paid subscription unless you cancel before the trial ends.
Manage or cancel
You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal in iOS Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access to ReciSnap Plus features until then.
Refunds
Refunds are handled by Apple under their normal policies. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Price changes
If we change a subscription price we will notify you and ask for your consent before the new price takes effect, as required by Apple's rules.
4. AI features
ReciSnap's AI features send the content needed for the feature you request to a third-party AI provider (Google's Generative Language API) using an API key that you supply. This can include meal or label photos, search queries, recipe text, recipe ingredients, recipe questions, or video URLs/files. The results are estimates. Calorie counts, macro values, ingredient identifications, and generated recipes produced by the model may be wrong, sometimes meaningfully wrong. Do not rely on ReciSnap as a sole source of nutritional information for medical, allergy, diabetes management, or clinical purposes. If you have any health condition affected by what you eat, consult a qualified professional.
You are responsible for following the third-party provider's terms (Google's) and for keeping your API key secret.
5. Content you put in
Recipes you save, edit, write, paste, photograph, or import remain yours. We do not claim ownership. The app stores them on your device.
Do not use ReciSnap to save or share content that you do not have the right to use, content that is illegal where you live, or content that violates someone else's intellectual property.
6. Imported recipes
ReciSnap's import features (URL, paste, share-sheet) help you keep a personal copy of recipes for your own use. Recipes published by others on the web may be subject to their authors' rights. Importing for personal cooking is one thing; redistributing someone else's recipe text publicly may not be. You are responsible for honoring those rights.
7. Things we cannot promise
ReciSnap is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any nutritional or recipe information produced by the app is accurate.
8. Limits on our liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ReciSnap and its developers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from or related to your use of the app. Our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms or the app is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us through the App Store in the 12 months before the claim arose or (b) US$10.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
9. Acceptable use
Do not (a) attempt to break, probe, overload, or interfere with ReciSnap or its providers; (b) use ReciSnap to harass, threaten, or harm anyone; (c) use ReciSnap to send anyone else's personal information to the AI provider without their permission; or (d) use ReciSnap for any unlawful purpose.
10. Ending the agreement
You may stop using ReciSnap at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or end your access to features (including ReciSnap Plus features) if you materially breach these terms or if we are required to by law or by Apple.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If we make a material change we will surface a notice in the app before the change takes effect. Continued use of ReciSnap after the change means you accept the new terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California, unless your local consumer law requires otherwise.
13. Apple's role (App Store EULA)
These terms are between you and the developer of ReciSnap. Apple is not a party to them. Apple is not responsible for ReciSnap or its content. The standard App Store EULA applies in addition to these terms; where there is a conflict, the stricter term controls.
